Jacawi are an ancient Fae people of the Moonworld. They are remembered in the Runeous era for helping mortals recover the practice of direct magic after war with forces of the Umbral Veil had ruined cities and broken many traditions of learning.

The Runeous encounter

During the Runeous era, a group of humans encountered a Jacawi girl amid a conflict. They joined forces with her and overcame the threat together. In the aftermath, the Jacawi began teaching these survivors how to channel magic without depending on runestones. Their teaching was a rediscovery for humanity: earlier mortals had practiced direct magic and may have met Fae, but much of that knowledge had been lost in the age of strife.

The girl's name, the place of the encounter, and the nature of the conflict have yet to be recorded.
