The Avarian Royal Family is the ruling house of Avaria, the Hartwright dynasty. The family holds court in Lumenara, the kingdom's capital, where the grand Royal Castle (also known as the Royal Hartwright Palace) stands in the Noble District. The monarchy governs in concert with a Council of Lords, consisting of influential nobles and guild masters, and maintains a close bond with the Fae through the office of the Fae Emissary, who serves in the royal court in Ariana's name.

The Hartwright dynasty has long symbolised unity, prosperity, and benevolent rule in Avaria. The kingdom's strength is often described as a blend of military might—embodied by the Avarian Guard in their iconic white armour—and a thriving culture of arts, literature, and ancient lore. The royal family oversees governance, justice, and diplomacy; the capital serves as the political, economic, and arcane heart of the kingdom, with the Royal Castle at its centre. The Council of Lords advises the crown and helps shape policy on trade, defence, and the affairs of the realm.

The Fae Emissary

A Fae emissary serves in the royal court, signifying the strong bond between Avaria and the Fae. The emissary acts as an intermediary between the mortal kingdom and the Fae Realm. In the current age, the role is held by Lady Aurelia Moonwhisper. The emissary is chosen in Ariana's name and is a living bridge between the two realms. Among other customs, the Naming Day tradition in Avaria holds that a child's name may be chosen by the Fae Emissary on the child's first birthday, an honour believed to reflect the emissary's connection to the mystical and her ability to perceive the child's destiny.
